My Friends Call Me Farha

MARWAN FARHA

I lead digital work across experience, product, marketing and technology.

More than 20 years across front-end development, UX, design, client services, marketing and communications. Working with and leading teams across those disciplines.

01 / DIGITAL

Experience across the whole journey.

My career has moved between design, development, client services, user experience, marketing and communications. I’ve worked on the detail and led teams responsible for the bigger picture. That breadth shapes how I approach digital: understanding how the business need, the experience, the technology and the people doing the work connect.

I’m comfortable moving between a client conversation, a design discussion and the technical detail. Each brings a different set of questions. Experience across those disciplines helps me connect decisions that are often made separately.

02 / FRONT END

From table layouts to web standards.

Front-end development was a large part of my career, from the days of table-based layouts through the web standards era. I spent a significant part of that time turning designs into working interfaces and understanding what happens between a visual idea and its implementation.

That experience still informs the way I work. I can look at an interface as a design, as something a person needs to use, and as something a team has to build and maintain. Those perspectives belong in the same conversation.

03 / USER EXPERIENCE

Make the experience understandable.

UX design and prototyping connect the intention behind a product to the way it actually behaves. I care about what someone is trying to do, where the experience becomes unclear, and what would make the next step easier to understand.

A prototype gives those conversations something concrete to work with. It creates room to question an assumption, try a different approach and refine the interaction before it becomes part of the finished product.

04 / PRODUCT

Design it. Build it. Understand it.

My experience spans product design, prototyping and development, from websites and mobile apps to back-end systems, supported by a working knowledge of the full stack. I like being able to follow a decision from the interface into the implementation and the systems behind it.

That helps me work through the trade-offs with designers and developers: what an idea needs to do, what it will take to build, and where a different approach could make the product clearer or more useful.

05 / MARKETING

Connect the brand and the experience.

Marketing and communications are part of the same digital picture: how a brand is understood, how it reaches people, and whether the experience lives up to its message. My experience in client services also brings the brief, the relationship and the expectations behind the work into that discussion.

06 / TEAMS

Bring the disciplines together.

I’ve worked with and led teams across design, development, UX, marketing and communications. Knowing the work from several sides helps me ask useful questions, make trade-offs visible and give different specialists a shared direction.

I value the expertise each person brings. My role is to help that expertise connect: making the brief clear, keeping the conversation open and helping people understand how their decisions affect the rest of the work.

07 / AI

AI, applied to real work.

AI has become part of how I design, build and explore ideas. I use it to prototype interfaces, develop software, work through image workflows and build specialist tools around a defined task. The work involves setting a clear brief, testing what comes back and refining it through successive versions.

I’m interested in the product and workflow around the model: what it should do, what information it needs, how someone can judge the result and where a person needs to make the decision. I stay involved in reviewing the design, behaviour and output as the work develops.

08 / INDEPENDENT WORK

A place to keep making.

I founded Twain and revived it in 2026 as an independent design, technology and product studio. It gives the products, commissioned art, small tools and experiments a home. It is another way to put that mix of experience to work and keep exploring ideas through things people can use.

09 / OFF SCREEN

Curiosity beyond the brief.

Games, home computers, BBSs, IRC and NFO files are part of where this site’s language comes from. Motorcycles, cars and mechanical systems are another part of my life. I like understanding how things behave and what changes when I adjust them. Some of that becomes work. Some of it stays an interest.
